This module considers the common attributes of services, and introduces three additional ones that are unique to financial services. The characteristic features of different categories of retail banking products from payment accounts to cash management products are discussed. A link is established between the demand for bank products to stages in the family life cycle as consumer needs evolve through the three stages of wealth accumulation, consolidation and transfer. In addition, typical pricing formulate and approaches for consumer loans and retail deposits are introduced and the module concludes with a discussion of common products in Islamic Banking
